Ninh Binh can be considered as a bridge linking Northern provinces with Southern ones and it is located on the trafic life-line including National Highway 1A and trans-Vietnam railway.

Ninh Binh is located close to the key economic areas of the North, including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh. Therefore, its development will form a new growth triangle of  Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh - Ninh Binh through National Highways 1A, 18, 10 and 2 important airports of Noi Bai and Cat Bi, sea Port and river Port systems meeting demand for passenger tranport with different means within the 100 km radius.
